Risotto's madrigal
I've just listened to a programme of ISIRTA from 1966 which included a piece by Risotto: originally a concerto, later a madrigal, and here arranged for four voices and Tim Brooke-Taylor. It's called "There was a ship that put to sea all in the month of May". Please, please, does anyone know where I can get the music? I really want to perform it! | | Tuesday, June 9th, 2009 | 4:28 pm [reapermum]

Geoffrey Perkins RIP
And why, do I hear you ask, should we mourn the passing of this man? Because he was the inventor of Mornington Crescent. | | Friday, April 25th, 2008 | 11:02 pm [reapermum]

So, what's happening in the land of ISIRTA? Nothing? I've just finished listening to every episode available through OTR Cat and had a most delightful time getting really acquainted with the show. I couldn't even begin to list all of the things I love about it. If they were available, I'd buy an "I love Lady Constance" T-shirt. I just have one obscure question: who is the one particular cast member who, in many of the shows, does the, "You don't... get away... tell us your name..." bits? Sometimes it's all of them except Bill, sometimes it's Graeme, but most of the time it's... Tim? David? | | Monday, July 17th, 2006 | 1:09 am [bangdrum]

Listening to ISIRTA on BBC 7 I was suddenily struck with the desire to have the Angus Prune Tune as a ringtone. Has anyone else managed this feat or come across one? I have a bog standard mono phone. | | Wednesday, June 14th, 2006 | 8:16 pm [reapermum]

"Stop messing about"
I've just listened to this on BBC 7 and realised I don't recall the programme at all. It sounds like "Round the Horne" but with Kenneth Horne missing and Kenneth Williams becoming the main player. It dates from 1969, which is while I was a student, so it must have been broadcast at a time when I was doing something else. "Round the Horne" fans might find it worth a trial listen. | | Monday, June 12th, 2006 | 1:58 am [bangdrum]

I like preemptive posting. I mean, I could wait until the site actually looks half-decent, but why? Oh right. My point. I made a website! Its purpose is to have all (or at least, all that I can get) of Bill Oddie's ISIRTA songs available for listening. It lives here and I've called it "Grimbling's Music Den." It's also linked on this community's userinfo page. I have a few songs up already, so there is something there. Again, Grimbling's Music Den. Please visit. Comments and suggestions welcome. :) Current Mood: accomplished | | Saturday, June 10th, 2006 | 7:50 pm [jaala]

calling all pun fans...
"The Very World of Milton Jones" (which I mentioned a while ago) is now playing on BBC7 on Tuesdays! It's available through Listen Again. A sample: Milton Jones: The other day I went to hang some spotted cubes from my car mirror. But I couldn't find them. [schmaltzy music] Voiceover: Milton's... Somewhat relevant
If this is not allowed in the comm, please feel free to delete: Up here there I have a list of a few ISIRTA and ISIHAC episodes I'd love to upload for anyone who wants it...just leave a comment if you want any! I will try to accommodate as many requests as possible (if any). I just need a way to celebrate after exams! | | Thursday, May 11th, 2006 | 2:35 pm [reapermum]
